St Mary’s taking part in Earth Hour – join in!
St Mary’s is inviting you to join us in celebrating Earth Hour on the evening of 25th March.
During Earth Hour, groups around the country will be switching off their artificial lighting and taking part in experiential excursions and nature walks ‘into the night’ to experience nature in relative darkness. Together we can learn more about how artificial lighting can affect human well being and wildlife.
Head of Science, Mrs Perkins will be leading our very own local event and our findings will feed into Earth Hour’s global research.
Be part of something amazing! Our excursion will be approximately 2-hours in duration, with all participants meeting at Holy Trinity Church at 8pm – half an hour before the beginning of Earth Hour.
At 8pm we will start the one hour ‘into the night’ activity. This will be a one-hour experiential walk.
You are asked to please bring along a raincoat and wellies, weather dependent! also a small torch, headlight or mobile phone light as some areas might be very dark.
