Scholarships

Our scholarship programme is an important element of St Mary's school life as it is a means of both celebrating and supporting children with exceptional ability. The programme is open to both external applicants as well as current pupils and is available for those entering Years 3-6. All candidates will be tested in English and Mathematics and because we celebrate children with a broad range of talents, we also welcome evidence-based applications across the curriculum. 

Scholarship awards are assessed yearly and are made on the basis that pupils will continue to work at the level displayed during the tests and behave in an appropriate manner in accordance with the school rules and ethos.

Bursaries

St. Mary’s also offers a limited number of bursaries. Bursary places are awarded to benefit families who would not otherwise be able to come to St Mary’s.  We are looking particularly for children who will benefit most from being at the School and who will contribute to life at St Mary’s. All bursaries are considered on an individual basis and according to financial need. Each child will have an assessment which will allow the Head to ensure that both the children and the School are able to gain full benefit from the Bursary. Priority may be given to children from the local Henley community. There is an annual reassessment of financial need and awards may be adjusted up or down.
