Music Resources
Here you will find useful attachments, such as words for the songs we are learning in choir or parts for orchestra.

This year our classes have taken the names of composers. Here is a list of the composers and some of their music that we have been listening to:
Nursery: Saint Saens - Carnival of the Animals
Kindergarten: Vivaldi - The Four Seasons
Year 1: Elgar - Pomp and Circumstance and Nimrod from The Enigma Variations
Year 2: Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue
Year 3 (Wright) : Chopin - Various Waltzes
Year 3 (Sadler) : Debussy : La Mer, Prelude a L'Apres Midi d'un Faune
Year 4: Alban Berg - Violin Concerto
Year 5: Rachel Portman - Excerpts from The Duchess and Chocolat
Year 6:Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker Suite and 1812 Overture
You could support your child's learning by finding out more about their composer and listening to the music together. You might be surprised about how much they can tell you about the music!
A child friendly website with information on some of the composers can be found via the Music Websites page.
Another very good site is: www.last.fm/music which has free listening examples and links to video. However, the information here is written for adults, so younger children will need support and guidance.
In music lessons last year we enjoyed Peter and The Wolf and many of the children have asked about getting the DVD. The animated version we watched at school was produced by Suzie Templeton and the characters work beautifully with Prokofiev's score. It is difficult to purchase in the high street, but is available online at Amazon.
