Changing Schools?

 Whether you are moving into the Henley area or simply having doubts about your child's current school, moving schools can be a daunting prospect for both you as a parent and your child. Here at St Mary’s we have a lot of experience in helping children to settle in to a new environment. The proximity of London and the Thames Valley means that children are often moving into the area from other parts of the UK or overseas and, whatever the reason for your move, we at St Mary’s are happy to help in offering individual assistance to enable your child to settle in.

Moving from a local school can pose much heartache. Parents often come to us torn between not wanting to disrupt their child’s happiness at their current school but very concerned about class sizes or that their child is perhaps underachieving.  In this case, nothing is lost by coming to see us on an informal basis and we actively encourage your child to spend a little time to get a feel of the school and to meet their prospective new classmates. We find that children are always very keen to come themselves after they have spent the day with us! The teaching staff at St Mary’s are always delighted to welcome new pupils and our size makes it easy to ensure that every child is known as an individual.
